Dear HKNA Members,
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks for your continuous support to the Association and it is my honour to be elected as the President of Hong Kong Nutrition Association (HKNA) in the year of 2019 – 21.
HKNA has continued to contribute extensive effort to promote healthy eating to community and professional developments. Last year we worked closely with different organizations to promote healthy eating:
- 3 talks for professionals and 37 talks for general public
- Over 40 column articles on local newspaper
- 5 government taskforce and working groups
- 2 regional and international meetings
Please allow me to thank the Council Members and subcommittee members of previous year for their great contributions.
In the coming days, HKNA will continue to work with local government, academic institutes, non-governmental organizations and professional bodies to promote nutrition knowledge to general public and to clarify any misinformation related to nutrition. To uphold the professionalism and professional integrity, we will keep on organizing high quality continuing education activities and deterring any malpractice within our profession. We will maintain our excellent network and partnership with the national and regional nutrition and dietetic organizations and support professional exchange with local and foreign experts. We are also exploring the means to promote the capacity and the role of nutritionists in the local community.
HKNA has established since 1980 and next year will be 40th Anniversary. To celebrate this special moment, HKNA will organize 1 day scientific meeting which we will invite local and overseas prestigious experts to share the latest information in nutrition and dietetics.
Over the past four decades, we work closely to different stakeholders to promote nutrition professionalism. We also do believe that your contribution would be crucial to the health of local population and the success of our profession. Looking forward to see you in the coming events.
President, 2019 – 2021
